From the founder
Dear contributors, scholars, and visitors, …
Hello, I’m Jerry Sun, a high school student from Nanjing.
When I was little, my dad encouraged me to “jump as far as you can, and take a glance at the magnificent world we live in.” This website would not exist without his support and inspiration. It has now been ten years since I visited my first cultural heritage site (the Terracotta Army) and I still carry that same sense of wonder with me. Through Heritmap, I want to pass on that invitation: go out and explore the magnificent world we share.
In today’s world of overwhelming social media, government censorship, and propaganda, too many invaluable voices are at risk of being silenced. The purpose of this project is to protect those voices, not for advertisement, not for propaganda, and not for mainstream trends—but for preservation, truth, and memory.
Thank you for your contributions, trust, and determination to help make preservation possible. Together, we can keep cultural heritage alive for generations to come.
Sincerely,
